Summary
There has been a lot of talk about the potential role of hydroxychloroquine for COVID-19. This webinar will educate pharmacists on information about hydroxychloroquine (including ADRs, DIs), as well as provide a brief review of information from trials so that pharmacists feel more confident in understanding and answering questions about its current place in therapy.
Learning Objectives for Pharmacists and Technicians:
1. Describe the basic pharmacology, proposed mechanism of action, kinetics, and indications of hydroxychloroquine (HCQ)
2. Discuss safety and considerations for use of HCQ
3. Outline clinical trial and in vitro data on the use of HCQ for COVID-19
4. Describe organization guidance, guidelines for treatment, and provide additional resources for ongoing clinical trials on the use of HCQ for COVID-19

This lesson is a knowledge-based CE activity and is targeted to pharmacists and technicians.
The American Society of Health-System Pharmacists and UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy are accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education as providers of continuing pharmacy education.
